I used to wear turtleneck a lot, because I felt warm and safe. Recently, at least in the past 5 years, I started to avoid it. I found out it makes my neck shorter.

However, currently I still have one turtle neck sweater dress and a turtle neck black top, save for the days when the scarf is not enough.

Our friend is having a b-day party for her 2-year-old, so I was going for a relaxing look. Was thinking about just have a tunic with legging. But this tunic was not long enough and my thighs are not thin enough, so I had to add a sweater dress inside to keep PG 13.

 

  I like this tunic. It looks almost like a sport shirt, but it has a lace back. Like a little surpise.

We had a little time between breakfast and the party, so we curised alongside PCH and stopped by Laguna Beach. My daughter wanted to stay in the car, so my husband was only able to take pictures of me from the parking lot.

I got this Abercrombie & Fitch sweater on sale last year with $20 something. I like it because it fits without sticking to me. However, probably because the cartoon moose on the sweater,  I always feel I am too old for it.  

Today, instead of wearing flats, I wore an ankle boots with heels, and then wore a blouse under the sweater. I had a velvet blazer to go with the outfit.... it made me feel like a "mature" student. Ha ha.

even it's 70-ish degree outside, it's a little chilly in the office, so I wore the scarf all day at work.

這件Abercrombie & Fitch毛衣是去年冬天打折時$20出頭買到的. 我喜歡, 因為自己很少這種合身卻又不貼(肥肉會顯出來)的毛衣, 不過大概因為圖案的關係, 每次穿我都覺得自己好像在"裝年輕".

今天做了實驗, 與其穿平底鞋, 配個有跟的短靴, 然後毛衣內搭個西裝襯衫, 外面再套個燈絨的西裝外套...我自己覺得是成熟版的學生風. 哈哈.

Today I ditched layered clothing and put up a simple outfit- because I went shopping with my friend during lunch break! To shop during a short period of time, speed is everything- have an outfit easy to take off in the fitting room, wear flat shoes to run around.

Evan though it looked like I was wearing a "skirt", I actually pulled it all the way above my chest... because this skirt is too long for me. The good thing is, it can be doubled as a strapless dress during summer.

I wore a feminine white sweater and a long skirt, so I purposely put on a leather jacket (synthetic) and a pair of military boots to neutralize it. 

Area to improve: a little too plain. Maybe I can add a bright color scarf or a statement necklace around the neck (In fact, I bought a necklace in Anthropologie during the lunch break shopping and I wore it right after I came back to the office. Ha ha.)

中午要跟朋友出去, 所以穿好走路的平底鞋才能趁短短的午休時間來個戰鬥逛街. 捨棄平時我最愛洋蔥穿法, 今天換上方便穿脫的衣服才好試穿衣服阿.

看起來是長裙, 其實裡面被我一路拉到胸上... 沒辦法因為腿短. 好處是, 夏天還能洋裝穿嘞. 穿著女性化的白毛衣和長裙, 我特意配上皮夾克和軍靴中和一下.

筆記: 穿得有點樸素, 沒什麼顏色, 胸前可以加條亮色的圍巾或是有特色的項鍊 (結果中午就在Anthropologie買了條項鍊帶上了, 哈)

I've been wanting to wear the taupe sweater that I scored from UO. I heard taupe is the "IN" color for this winter. But I didn't get this taupe sweater (and another one, which has to wait till Xmas) until the season is almost over, because of the sale. Ha.

Inspired Layered Dress

I felt like wearing this dress (the link is to Revolve Clothing, but I purchased from Urban Outfitters when it's on sale and it had sold out the item online now) this morning, but was worried it would be too thin while sitting in an office with AC. Usually I would cover it with an oversized sweater, but it would be overstuffing again, plus I did want to show off the collar. Therefore, I layered it with a simple top that has a simliar color, tyring to make two pieces like one piece.

今天早上就想穿之前在UO打折買的灰色洋裝, 又怕太薄, 坐在有空調的辦公室會冷. 於是我嘗試著穿上類似顏色的簡單上衣, 露出洋裝本來就有的領子, 試著讓兩件衣服看起來是一件.

第一次這樣穿, 我覺得效果還不錯, 只是我希望有個顯眼的項鍊能讓整體看起來比較明亮 (項鍊在我的購買單上)

Not too bad, for the first time trying this look. Although I wish I have some statement necklace (on my search list) to brighten the look.

Since I went for a grey+black inside, I went to a more uplifting color outside.

既然裡面穿的又灰又黑, 我選了個明亮顏色的外套來搭. 照片看不出來, 但其實這件外套領子的假毛做的很漂亮. 原價美金兩百多的外套, Bloomingdale百貨打折的價錢讓我結帳時開心地都要飛上天了.

Casual Monday

Recovering from the weekend, I am keeping it as "casual Monday." Rrembering not to overstuff myself (I purposely left my jacket on the car), but still need to keep warm under the chilly breeze, I went with a cashmere cardigan as my outwear. 

還在沉迷週末的悠閒, 星期一也穿得輕便. 記取星期五的教訓不要穿得太多, 我簡單地加了個喀什米爾毛毛衣當作外套.

My Burberry cashmere scarf was a luxurous purchase during holidayseason last year. It sat in my closet for couple months and I just could not make myself to return it to the store, so I kept it. I first used it on Valentine's day and told my hubby that this counted as my Valentine Day's gift. (if I say I bought it with a discount, does that make me less guilty? =P)

撥撥力(Burberry)的喀什米爾圍巾是小小的奢侈品, 我去年底買後一直擺著, 掙扎了好久最後還是沒有退掉. 我跟先生說, 就當作情人節禮物吧. 而且是用折扣買的唷. (裝乖)

There's weather alert regarding the temperature drop troughout the weekend. Even tough compare to east coast, it's really nothing here in southern California, I put up TWO cashmere sweaters...the good thing and the bad thing about cashmere is that it's light and thin, making my dout wearing one is just not enough.. Later I was getting warmer and warmer while sitting in the office that I started to sweat.

我今天真是穿太多了...氣象預報說天氣會變冷, 我穿了一件棉T, 兩件喀什米爾毛衣和UGG靴. 結果在辦公室越坐越熱, 還開始流汗了. 等會要把其中一件脫掉....

This was okay in the morning coming from outside.
